IT IS NOW ILLEGAL TO SELL CIGARETTES CONTAINING CERTAIN CHARACTERIZING FLAVORS EXCEPT MENTHOL- On June 22nd, 2009, President Obama signed the Family Smoking Prevention Act, giving the FDA more control over tobacco products. One of the changes taking place because of this is that since September 22nd, 2009 flavored tobacco products like vanilla, bubblegum, cotton candy, strawberry and chocolate to name a few are illegal to sell. It is believed that these flavors were meant to attract and addict young people.
