The mission of the Albia Police Department is to build stronger partnerships with the community to provide public safety, to enhance community service, and to improve the quality of life while maintaining respect for individual rights and human dignity.

This is achieved by providing the highest quality of police services in response to community needs by: Apprehending Criminals, Developing Partnerships with the Community and Respecting Individuals

We are comitted to the community police philosophy of providing full-service policing, that identifies problems of crime and disorder and involves all elements of the Albia community in the search for solutions to these problems. We strongly believe in large department professionalism with small-town friendliness and service while developing a close, mutually beneficial tie between the community members and the Albia Police Department.
